I’m from Brazil and most probably one in a million trying to learn English to communicate with the Hungarian boyfriend´s family.
Szia Camila!
So glad you’re enjoying the lessons! Is there anything in particular you’d like to learn from us?
Best of luck communicating with the family 🙂
Köszi,

Hello Steven and Györgyi
Thank you so much for this website and for all the time you have committed to this endeavour
I am Native portuguese trying to survive with a smal Hungarian daughter.
This work of yours has done wonders in my still low level of Hungarian
One question
How should I say “”I am Portuguese”
would it be “”Portugal Vagyok””
Thanks
Hugo
Szia Hugo, thanks for the kind message! We’re so glad that we’re able to help you with your Hungarian.
To answer your question, yes, you would say “Portugál vagyok.” Remember to stress the first syllable of each word!
Good luck with your continued studies!!
Steven
Hey Steven and Köszi… I am really enjoying these lessons and they are very helpful. Thank you for uploading them. I had a doubt though. I am an Indian and i would like to know how you would say “I am an Indian” in Hungarian.
Thanks a lot!
Disha
i meant Steven and Györgyi….sorry if i misspelled anyone’s name…
Szia Disha!
Thanks for the kind comments! We’re glad you’re enjoying our lessons. As for your question as how to say “I am an Indian,” you would say: “Indiai vagyok.” It’s really that simple!
Hope you continue to enjoy our podcasts.
Köszi,
Steven

Szia Rebecca,
Thanks for contacting us! I think that if you want to have a conversation, it would be best to start with our regular lessons. Those are the ones where we teach Hungarian based on dialogues.
Hope they’re able to help you!
Cheers,
Steven
My Mother and Aunts spoke fluent Hungarian as their parents were from Hungary. They would never teach my cousins and I so they could discuss Christmas and Birthday presents without us know what they were saying! 🙂 Thank you for these lessons. I have always wanted to learn the language of my elders.
Hey Karen,
We’re so glad you’re using our site to reconnect with your Hungarian heritage! It must have been very frustrating not to know what your relatives were saying! Is there anything in particular you’d like to be able to learn in Hungarian?
Köszi,
Steven
I am in a wheelchair and a vegetarian going back to Hungary for the 1st time in 9 years. Things I need to be able to say are:
Clearing Customs
How to order food for a vegetarian?
Where are the wheelchair entrances?
Something to say to family I haven’t seen for a long time.
Appreciate the help.
Out of all the learn Hungarian courses I’ve tried, I’ve made the most progress with yours. If only you would have new lessons more often. Thanks for your efforts, Henry
In the pdf file for the lesson no. 17 you have written “kedzve”. Should it not be rather “kezdve”?
Dear Steven and Györgyi
My name is Charlene from Mexico (Mexikoi vagyok) I just got married to a Hungarian and your podcast has been “fantanztikus” for me to finally be motivated to learn such a hard language.
Thank you very much for the excellent work.
Good day
I’m a beginner but not sure where to start. Please can you recommend what to do and any lessons? I am struggling with the pronouncing of words. I’m English speaking and live in South Africa.
Hi,
I was in love with a Hungarian man and wanted to learn his language. It did not work out but.. I think if I learn the language, something good will come out of this experience. And thanks to your podcast, I am enjoying myself 🙂
Köszönöm szépen
